eFoodSafety Reports OraPhyte(TM) in Final Phases of Testing Prior to Licensing Agreement

June 5, 2008 · By Editor

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - eFoodSafety.com, Inc. (OTCBB: EFSF, www.efoodsafety.com), a researcher, developer, and marketer of whole food and nutraceutical products, provides an update on OraPhyteTM, its product being tested by major universities for efficacy in controlling nematodes, widespread agricultural parasites.

As recently announced by the company, three major U.S. universities have conducted year-long studies to determine OraPhyte’s effectiveness in controlling nematodes. A fourth university is expected to evaluate OraPhyte for use as a bactericide. Each study has targeted specific types of nematodes that are prevalent and contribute to substantial economic losses in the agricultural industry. In particular, these studies targeted vegetable, field crop, and turf grass nematodes. Results of the initial studies indicate the following:

* The product provides excellent control of certain turf grass nematodes known to cause severe damage to golf courses and lawns.

Based on these results, the company and the participating university for this study will conduct additional tests against a range of other common turf grass nematodes.

* The product provides good control of certain nematodes commonly found on vegetables. The company and the participating university will conduct additional field tests with modifications to the initial study.

* The product has also been tested against nematodes commonly found on major field crops. Based on the results, the company and the participating university have established additional studies that will focus on evaluating different methods and timing factors, which they believe may show favorable results.

Further testing will identify which additional markets OraPhyte can enter. Proven test results in such areas will create more product value and strength when negotiating and defining the terms of the licensing agreements. The Board of Directors believes it to be in the best long-term interest of the shareholders to pursue additional testing over the next 60-90 days to verify the product’s capabilities and finalize potential licensing agreement(s) by year-end.

“Due to the size of OraPhyte’s multiple target markets, each in the multi-billion dollar range, the company believes that additional testing will enable eFoodSafety to maximize the value in potential licensing agreements,” says Patricia Gruden, CEO of eFoodSafety.

“Nematodes negatively affect some of the most basic agricultural categories, including lawns, parks, vegetable fields, and other related areas. There are many opportunities to introduce an all- natural product like OraPhyte to these agricultural markets, and if further testing can indicate how many additional markets OraPhyte can exploit, it would be most worthwhile.”
