Be The Architect Of Your Life

July 25, 2007 · By Dorothy M. Neddermeyer, PhD.

Your experiences are a direct reflection of your vision and your intentions. When you use your experiences as a catalyst to create your life, you can simply shift your thoughts to create what you want to experience. Your life is a mosaic of the experiences you create, what is your life saying about you? Are you interested in how to turn your experiences into an intentional life?

Are you interested in being the architect of your life?

Architect - n: someone who creates plans to be used in making something (such as buildings) [syn: designer]

2. A contriver, designer, or maker. The architects of their own happiness. —Milton.

As the definition of architect reveals, you need to create plans to be used in making something—your life. As the architect of your life what are your plans? John L. Beckley stated, “Most people don’t plan to fail, they fail to plan.” His statement was shortened to—”If you fail to plan, you plan to fail.”

Before beginning to plan their dream life, many people consult with a Life Architect (Life Coach) to guide them in making the right choices for their life vision. This will ensure the subtle aspects of your plans are matched to the vision you have for your life.

As the architect, the vitality of your life is the core to your happiness, health, and wealth.

The first and only step to planning your life is Thought—Thought is at the beginning of all creation. You create your thoughts! You are free to think anything you choose. The intent of thought is the primary mover of all creation. As you change your thoughts, you incrementally change your life—albeit, however minor. Thought is Energy. Energy follows thought. Matter follows energy.

Sometimes we focus our thoughts on what we don’t like in our life or what we don’t want; this simply creates more of the same results. When you understand how important it is to consciously choose the thoughts you hold each day; to keep your thoughts and actions focused on what you really want to attract into your life—you will. It is all up to you. For a long time people have weighed evidence, analyzed and taken measurements to answer the question, “What do I want?” It is now clear that this was the wrong question. The right question is, “What thoughts will create what I want?” Take charge of your thoughts, and you’ll take charge of your life.

We are a work in progress, and each one of us has gifts that we were born to share with one another. By letting your light shine and giving love to all, you send out a message of hope to others, feeding them what we each need most. Your inspiration will make a difference to people who you could not realize were affected.

Remember to include the following empowering thoughts for an amazing life.

1. Be resilient—enjoy the process.
2. Be consistent—enjoy the process.
3. Be persistent—enjoy the process.
4. Live in the moment, this moment is all there is.
5. Be Optimistic—see the light at the end of the tunnel.
6. Laugh often—use humor freely—the journey is more enjoyable.
7. Accept what is—When you accept what is, you can change it.
8. Focus on what you want in your life.
9. Bring your creative nature forth.
10. Take responsibility in all your endeavors.
11. Ask others to join you—An amazing life requires connection.
12. Enjoy your creation.
