Starwood Vacation Ownership Breaks Ground on Next Phase of Westin Kierland Villas in Scottsdale; Phase 2 Opens for Occupancy in September

Starwood Vacation Ownership’s Westin Kierland Villas in Scottsdale

Starwood Vacation Ownership (SVO), a division of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. (NYSE:HOT), has broken ground on the next phase of the Westin Kierland Villas in the Scottsdale/Phoenix area of Arizona. Upon completion the resort will have 158 two-bedroom villas.

This phase of the resort will consist of two buildings for a total of 54 two-bedroom units and will include two additional community barbeque areas and more than 50 covered parking spaces. The Westin Kierland Villas are located on 10 picturesque acres within the exclusive master-planned Kierland community just outside Scottsdale, Arizona. The area is renowned for its premier golf, spas, year-round sun, and stunning vistas.

The current phase under construction will open in September of this year and will include two buildings containing a total of 44 two-bedroom units. In addition, this phase will include a putting green and an additional community barbeque area.

Each two-bedroom villa is designed to capture the modern luxury and style in keeping with the Westin name. The fully equipped kitchens include everything needed to prepare a gourmet meal, the separate living room and dining room provide plenty of space for families and guests, the master bedroom is its own oasis including the Heavenly Bath(R) complete with a whirlpool tub and the Heavenly Bed(R). In addition, owners and guests will have access to the WestinWORKOUT(R) Powered by Reebok(R) Fitness Facility.

Overlooking the Kierland Golf Club, The Westin Kierland Villas boasts lavish amenities including a large family-oriented pool complete with water slide, cabanas and outdoor fireplace. In addition, there is an adult-only pool as well as a children’s pool. Gas barbeque grills, separate family and adult spas, a fitness center and a poolside pavilion combine to give owners and guests the perfect place to relax.

The Westin Kierland Villas is an example of SVO’s mixed-use strategy of developing a vacation ownership resort adjacent to an existing Starwood-branded hotel.
