Have rising interest rates cooled down a red-hot real estate market? And is it still a good time to buy or sell a home? Many experts disagree on the answers to these questions, but the latest Existing-Home-Sales figures released by the National Association of Realtors are sure to ignite new debate over the issue.

Many economists believe that real estate sales have propped up the over all economy for the last few years, setting all-time record highs in the process. Experts Weigh In As Industry Releases Latest Figures

Have rising interest rates cooled down a red-hot real estate market? And is it still a good time to buy or sell a home? Many experts disagree on the answers to these questions, but the latest Existing-Home-Sales figures released by the National Association of Realtors are sure to ignite new debate over the issue.

Often referred to as the EHS, Existing-Home-Sales data reflects the sale of over 85 percent of single-family home sales in the U.S. The EHS is considered the most reliable means to measure the health of the residential real estate market.

Many economists believe that real estate sales have propped up the over all economy for the last few years, setting all-time record highs in the process. So, is it true that what goes up must come down? Are we now entering a period when the high-flying real estate market will make a serious correction? And how does this affect the nation’s economy?

A home is still the single most important investment a family will make. The importance of interest rates and how the current economy impacts the decision-making process for first-time homebuyers has a trickle down effect on the U.S. real estate market. How these figures are perceived could change the landscape for homeowners and prospective buyers alike.
